Dog Shows

When we bought Molly, we were asked that she be shown in the confirmation ring to try and obtain her champion title. I had absolutely no experience in this area nor had I ever really paid attention to how dogs were shown when watching the Wesminister dog show on television. Melinda, (the breeder we got Molly from) gave me a crash course and said that she would be at my first show to give me a few pointers. Well, things came up and she was unable to attend, so my daughter and I drove to Longmont and did the best we could. Molly was 7 months and did wonderful for her first show, and somehow I managed to keep it together and do fairly well. That was November 2000, Molly placed first in her class and then went on to take reserves which is second place out of all the Bullmastiffs entered.

Molly

Molly came to live with us in September 2000, she was now 5 months old. We were not expecting to bring her home, we only had one food dish, one crate, one of everything, we were not prepared for two dogs. That soon changed as does any home when the unexpected happens. Molly had not been around children before and was a little mouthy. We took her to puppy kindergarten and although she was the largest dog, she acted like a small scared little dog. She completed her training and adjusted to our home quite well.

Dori

Dori is our first Bullmastiff. We brought her home on Father's Day 2000. She is definitely a princess, she has attitude and believes she should be waited on hand and foot. She attended puppy class and has wonderful obedience, although she does like to pull when on a leash. We had Dori for three months and then went to the Highlands Festival again, where her litter mate had not yet found a home. We ended up taking her home with us as well. Then there were two.

About Us

I fell in love with the Bullmastiff the first time I saw them. My husband and I had taken our children to the Highlands Festival in Estes park several years ago, this is where I found the breed for me. I asked many questions of the breeders and then I began doing my research. I read everything I could find, did many searches on the internet and talked to several breeders. I was fully aware of the temperment and the problems associated with this breed. I then contacted a breeder and began the waiting process for my own "Bully." This took me about three years, I was not going to own a breed that I did not understand. We finally purchased our first Bullmastiff in June 2000. What a wonderful day.
